Recently, some modifications submitted for the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) show that the tech giant Google may be preparing to launch a new feature, along with the long-awaited Android P, which will allow the recording of calls.

The functionality that some Android already have

Although no one has mentioned the existence of a public API that allows programmers to implement the recording of calls in their applications, you can see that this should be Google’s intention. While the tech giant Google restricts access to developers, brands like Xiaomi, Samsung and OnePlus have been putting this feature on their devices over the years, and in some cases even granting privileges to other apps in the Play Store. According to the information that has been circulating, a special touch should be added to the audio content that circulates through the network until it reaches the other side, allowing the other person to perceive that the call is being recorded. This mode of operation must comply with certain requirements on the part of the telecommunications operators who can then configure things their own way and decide whether or not they want this touch to remain activated. According to the descriptions, this ring should have a frequency of 1400Hz and repeat every 15 seconds while the call is in progress. This will most likely be one more feature that should be included in Android P, which is reported to be officially launched in May on Google I/O 2019. The National Commission for Data Protection determines that in only 3 situations the recording of calls is allowed: in emergency situations, in call centres and in the case of concluding a contract. In these 3 cases, the recording must be done by the service provider and not by the customer. However, the customer must be expressly informed, in a clear and transparent manner, that it is being recorded. The maximum deadline for the preservation of data and recordings is 90 days. So, what do you think about this new feature of the most awaited Android version, of course, I am talking about the Android P? Simply share all your views and thoughts in the comment section below.
