Whether recovery email or security issues are today two of the most commonly used ways to gain access to the forgotten password and SMS used to receive two-step authentication messages, but Facebook wants to be an even safer alternative. The proposal presented by Facebook promises to be safer and more effective than the existing proposals for recovery passwords or authentication to two steps. According to the social networking company, today’s methods are progressively less secure and you may not have access to an extra device or email account to verify the information needed to access the service you want. Although not very clear, Facebook proposes to be an alternative authentication service, named Delegated Recovery.

Delegated Recovery

Through Delegated Recovery, Facebook will now allow users to create encrypted recovery messages. That is, if you lose access to a certain account, the service will send those messages stored in the Facebook profile to the account you want to access, proving your identity. With this service, Facebook promises a total security of data since the messages are completely encrypted and none of the services (Facebook and the service that you want to access through the password) will share your personal information, neither with each other nor with third parties. The Delegated Recovery is not yet accessible to any platform at this time and is being tested on Github so that Facebook receives feedback from the security community, has also created the bug detection reward program. Facebook seems to want to control the Internet consistently, but it still has a long way to go. But if its proposal could be truly safer, a question arises: How we will be able to recover the password of Facebook itself? So, for this answer simply we have to wait for a while, until then simply share your views and thoughts regarding this matter in the comment section below.
