Of course, having a good storage capacity on your computer will always prove profitable, especially if you are running a computer business or any enterprise data centers where you need to store lots of data. Recently, Seagate unveiled the monstrous SSD Drive (Solid-state drive) that has a capacity of 60TB at the Flash Memory Summit in Silicon Valley. This is the largest capacity drive until now in the world. A solid-state drive (SSD), it contains neither an actual disk nor a drive motor to spin a disk. It is a solid-state storage device that uses integrated circuit assemblies as memory to store data persistently. SSDs have no moving mechanical components. The new 60TB 3.5 SSD drive features twice the density and four times the capacity of the next highest capacity SSD available today. The Storage space is enough for 400 million photographs or 12,000 DVD movies. It also promises to deliver superior performance with ultra-dense NAND technology and low power consumption. We have also seen earlier this month Samsung started marketing the largest SSD in the world which is Samsung’s PM1663a 2.5-inch 15TB SSD and it was the world’s largest SSD and it reportedly costs $10,000 per unit. However, Seagate planned to launch its new 60TB SAS SSD next year. Therefore, Samsung still holds the crown of the Largest SSD in the World.
