[dropcap]The[/dropcap] instant messaging application from the tech giant Facebook, WhatsApp, has launched a desktop application for Windows and Mac, which will mirror the conversations and messages from a user’s smartphone device. As WhatsApp claims that the WhatsApp desktop client will offer the desktop notifications, better keyboard shortcuts, and much more as well as WhatsApp, said that the WhatsApp desktop client would be available for the PCs running on Windows 8 and for Mac OS 10.9 and above. Every WhatsApp user knows very well that, at the start of the year, the Facebook-owned company WhatsApp removed its $1/year subscription fee to look for new ways to connect with its users. Hence, the Facebook-owned company WhatsApp also promised that it would not show any third-party ads to compensate for the revenue shortfall. Earlier this week, a few leaked screenshots indicated that the WhatsApp desktop client would allow users to send messages to friends and share files, all from their desktop. Hence, the company is ramping up its service and introducing many new features. Earlier, we saw that WhatsApp dropped its support for BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10, Nokia S40, and Nokia Symbian S60, along with the Android versions 2.1 and 2.2 and Windows Phone 7.1. But, the Facebook-owned company WhatsApp said, “While these mobile devices have been an important part of our story, they don’t offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app’s features in the future”. As we mentioned earlier, the WhatsApp desktop client is no different than the mobile version; hence, the WhatsApp desktop client will make communication not only with loved ones but also make the communication between friends and business associates much easier, especially when your messages as synced.
